Very tough start to the campaign, we need to up our game at Durham (away) next or we will be adrift very quickly, lets hope one or two of the missing England lads can play and add some depth.

Aparently Hodd and Gatts were head to head on selection and Gatting got the nod, although I would like to see Gatting get a run. Prior and Yardy would certainly give us more batting resistance and perhaps Wright as a third strike bowler.

for all the hilarious joking on this thread about how rubbish we are, i think today should be a serious wake up call in terms of how this season is going to go

it's not going to get any easier at durham, and as has been quite rightly pointed out becoming adrift at the bottom so early on is now good thing. we need to get a grip before the next game and fast

these insights are worthy of communication direct to the Sussex dressing room... treating the first game of the season as a bit of a piss around is understandable but someone should let them know how a league table works so they can work on a more professional approach for the Durham fixture...
