Are there though? We went through all this with Adams when we were told there were 'loads' of replacements should the club sack him. People posted lists of unemployed managers - and yet when the time came no one seemed to be available. Or to be more accurate they either didn't want it (Ince, Boothroyd), were out of our league (Curbishley) or were complete no-hopers (every manager sacked by a League One/Two club for bad results).

There may indeed be better managers suited to the job - but would they come here? Or you may THINK they're better suited to the job than the present incumbent - and you then find out, too late, that they are anything but. After all that's what happened at the beginning of this season.

Hessentahler is the manager of Dover, and has league experience with the Pikeys where he was player-manager.

A younger manager with the passion to do well would be ideal I think, maybe Charlie Oatway, after all isn't he manager of Havant and he knows the club inside out. Not saying he is better mind but there will be managers available in the summer with a better CV

I agree that he might be ok with his own back room staff but next seaspon will not be one to take a chance and hope. Having said that I suggested that we followed Mike Bambers example and employed a player from a higher division and gave him his first managerial chance like Mullery got. I dont think we can afford a manager who is unemployed due to being sacked by a low division club.

Oatway is assistant manager at part time Havant and Waterloovile and coaches "mentally challenged" people at brighton city college amongst other things. I would have no objection to him, Butters and Chapman returning as a new look coaching setup but not as manager.

You have got to be joking.....

This is like all the previous threads talent spotting someone playing at county league side and saying "they could do a job". No they couldn't. They are at that level for a reason - being not very good (certainly not up to Football League standard - even bottom division whateveritcallsitselfthesedays)

If we do award him a longer deal, I hope it's no longer than a year with the promise of results led further extension.
