How about heard of it, but never used it?

Yes me too never used it, but my friend is raving about it like it's the greatest thing since sliced bread!

Yeah but MSN is shite :)

No it isn't, just look at yesterday's poll. I too have Skype and it's good but it doesn't do anything I want to do better than MSN.

got it at home but don't use it much. But at work it's very handy if we need to talk to our factory in China

No, merely condensing my opinion into one word, that's all :)

I use plenty of MS products - I am not prejudiced against them for no reason :p

What's wrong with MSN and why is Skype better ? I have both and MSN is simpler to use and a lot more peopel have it.

Revolutionising telephone calls by using VoIP (broadband)

Are you a user?

Do you have to buy some bit of kit, a microphone type thing, or do you just shout at the PC like Chris Morris in the first episode of The IT Crowd? :dunce:

Skype lets you call real phone numbers (for a fee) and get a real phone number (for a fee). But the costs are a lot, lot lower than using BT, for instance.

If you can get broadband without a phone, such as a cable modem, it can be a cheap way to get a UK landline number. And you can even fake which part of the country you live in ;)

No, it's a telephone program so you can use it to phone mobiles and landlines as well as other Skype users. There is a fee for this but it is massively reduced. I think a call to an Australian landline is 1.4p per minute and to an Australian mobile it's 11p per minute.

Have used it on and off to phone UK landlines from abroad but find the delay and quality to poor to persevere with it. Believe it is much better skpe to skype
