Below are all the players bought into the club since we returned to Withdean by the various managers. I've split them into transfers, loans and youth team with figures given for all appearances by the latter. Loans turned into transfers count as the latter. It's interesting how the bulk of the squad were bought early on augmented by a few transfers later. As the years have progressed transfers have become less replaced by loans and youth teamers becoming regulars. Only two players, Kerry Mayo and Gary Hart are still with us from the pre-Withdean days.

Few questions emerge from that list:

1) Whatever happened to Matthew Wicks? He was touted as one of the most promising young defenders around when he first started out, seemed to do quite well for us to begin with.
Where is he now?

2) How many games did Aidan Newhouse, Ryan Palmer, David Cameron and Chris Wilder play for us?

3) Scott Ramsey played 24 games?

4) Dirk Lehmann = a cheaper Turienzo? Maybe we should steer clear of foreign strikers altogether.

5) Chris Jones was a goalkeeper, right?

6) Why did Coppell bring back Danny Webb on loan?

Wicksy went to Hull didn't he? and then his career petered out.

Ryan Palmer - One appearance in a loss at Vetch Field
Aidan Newhouse - 2 starts 13 appearances 2 Goals (2 vs Mansfield on return to Brighton)
David Cameron - 8 starts 21 appearances 0 goals (twat)
Chris Wilder - 13 appearances

Ramsay 10 starts 37 appearances 2 Goals

Chris Jones the Aussie, Goalkeeper.

We will never see what Coppell saw in Danny Webb

Now thats interesting. Remember when Alan Cork called him useless and he was effectively bombed out of the team.

I remember for a few weeks people were calling for Adams head.

The season after he won the championship.

andy petterson possibly one of the worst goalkeepers i saw in recent years, I seem to remember him falling over at the end of one game at withdean and the other team scoring. useless.

Yes! That was vs the Gills when we were trailing 3-2 and the had a break. He started to job backwards to get back into the box and fell over. :lolol:

He played at Walsall and my saddlers fan/friend said he was the worst keeper he had ever seen.

You sure?

This was the side that horton put out that lost to Northanpton in the League cup......

Albion Team:
Mark Walton
Peter Smith, Glenn Thomas, Ian Culverhouse, Derek Allan, Graeme Atkinson,
Jeff Minton, Kerry Mayo, Michael Bennett,
Jamie Moralee, Richard Barker.
subs: Ross Johnson, Mark Ormerod, Danny Mills, plus 2.
Formation 5-3-2
Attendance: 1,291 (mid-week travelling causes very low crowds as people leaving work are unable to arrive in time for the kick-off).
Albion MOM: Richie Barker.

How many would you want to see again in an Albion team
