I was watching the darts just now and listening to Sid Waddell talking in his usual riddles.

Bearing in mind he is 'the voice of darts' etc etc etc, this is a difficult one, but is he actually a bit of a bellend?

His 'hilarious' plays on words were funny once but it's all a bit tedious these days.

I think twat is a bit harsh. I don't mind him as long as he's not commentating on Taylor, then he annoys the shit out of me.

His problem is that he's become a caricature of himself, he deffo needs to tone it down, but you can't fault his love or knowledge of darts

I sat next to him once at a lunch. He is quite bonkers, it's not just an act for darts commentary. We were both reading that Stephen King book about the Red Sox winning the World Series at the time, so at least we didn't have to talk about Classics at Cambridge (not my specialist subject).

Great commentator, but I wonder who'll get the chop first, him or Peter Alliss.

Interviewed him many years ago and definitely one of the most engaging and unaffected people I've ever met. Still cherish the memory, though I guess I may have been starstruck having grown up on his commentaries in the Bristow era. Not even a bit of a twat though, top bloke.

yes, he's a complete wanker but he's a darts commentator so, if you're being annoyed by him, you are apparently watching darts on TV which means being annoyed by him is really the least of your worries.
