Definitely - apart from the pint for beer.
So for football purposes, you'd prefer:
9.1444m rather than 10 yards for a wall at a free kick ??
10.9728m rather than 12 yards for the distance from the goal line to the penalty spot ??
5.4864m box rather than the 6 yard box ??
And 16.4592m rather than the penalty area being 18 yards ??

Serious questions - is it actually still a 6 yard box, is the penalty spot 12 yards from the goal line? For that matter, is the goal still 8 ft. X 8 yards?

How far/high/wide is it in, say, France or Argentina?

Why not go even further and make the year metric too, so a whole year is 100 days with each day lasting 87.6 hours (which we should probably also convert to metric and make that 100 hours instead and each hour would last 52.56 minutes, which i suppose would also need to go metric so each minute becomes .... and so on )

TBF it would be great if you then still work 7.4 hours a day and you still got 4 to 5 weeks holiday a year (and i suppose we'd have to make weeks metric too, so lasting 10 days)

Two things drive me mad:
When you are watching a video of how to do something and it says you need a "Thirty nine eighty sixths" drill bit. Is that bigger than twenty three forty ninths ? Just use f...ing millimetres you dins !
Recipes that state "two cups of sugar". How much is a cup ? Even if you google it you get the answer in another arcane unit. Jesus Christ, use grams or millilitres.

I think I need a lie down now.

Metric is the way. Decilitre scoops will change your life. Windows that are exactly 2m wide so your 2m wide blinds from Dunhelm fit perfectly. f***ing ALCOVES where your billy bookcase slots straight in? Come onnnnnnnn.

Actually I think we should do the opposite: drop all the metric stuff and do everything in imperial. Petrolheads might have a problem adapting though. When asked how big the car engine is rather than saying "Three litres", they'll have to say "Five and a quarter pints".

Being English, I'm quite happy using both, in fact I often do it with money as well. That's my tuppence worth on the matter.
Nothing wrong with measuring something imperiametricly

Unfortunately (or more realistically, fortunately) the sun and moon will not comply. In the time it takes us to circumnavigate the sun there are 365 sunrises and sunsets; the moon completes its cycle in the time it takes for 28 sunrises and sunsets to happen. Metric f***ed well and truly.
I suppose there is an idiot out there who would advocate making it ten hours in a day - sorry, 'new hours' (one new hour equals 2.4 old hours), with 100 minutes to the hour (work out the value of a new minute for yourself!) The sort of idiot that'd probably vote Trump and believes the world is flat and that vaccines contain Government microchips too.

If you look at it factually, metrication was forced on us. People actually got fined for trading in imperial (although I believe common sense has now prevailed on that)!
One could argue that the imperial units, with their origin being ancient Rome, were probably also forced on you...

Prior to 'three litres' engines were measured in horsepower (defined as the power to lift 550lbs. one foot in 1 second). Worked fine.

From what I've seen, the average trump voter can't work out a 24 hour clock, so have them convert to something that's a base 10..... 🦄 :flypig:

(The only one on the list I still use is miles, because that's what road signs use)

Aside from that I can't fathom why anyone would want to use Imperial metrics.
I hope I haven't put my foot in it by saying that.

I remember a certain person proposing the day be divided into 100 centidays instead of 24 hours. Each centiday would be 14 minutes 24 seconds. A deciday would be 2 hours 24 minutes. 6:00 a.m. would be 25:00. 12:00 noon would be 50:00. 6:00 p.m. would be 75:00 & 12:00 midnight would be 100:00.

You might give it a few millidays and think about it.

Not all imperial units originated from the Roman ones, and neither were all Roman units incorporated into the imperial system.
The relationship is similar to that between Latin and English - many words derivative, but many also sourced elsewhere.
