I would hope, that IF the opportunity arose, and let's face it, it won't, that Gus would put the needs of the club above pride.

Gus has done just that. He has made it clear that if a player says he's in agreement with the Albion and then goes off elsewhere to open contract talks with another club then we will not be mugged by a player who is being less than honourable.

I still reckon Poyet is going to get an even flairer full back in his place.

I have a feeling you could be right. Nobody had heard of Calderon before he got here and like Ashley Barnes who few had heard of as well he proved to be a revelation. I reckon the way Calderon was dealt with should serve as a warning to agents that we are not going to be ripped off.
