I tend to agree - some sort of symbolic memorial outside the stadium would be better.

In the end, I would imagine the heroes talked about on this thread (players, board and supporters) would all rather the stand names went to corporate sponsorship if it meant the club benefitted. And it is that attitude which explains precisely why they are all held in such high esteem by the rest of us.
