Sharm El Sheik,
Mrs Wig wants me to take her there,
Has any one been?
What is it like?
What is the best bay to visit?
Can any one recomend a good hotel, preferably something at least 4 star.
Any advice or imformation about the resort, good or bad is welcome.

Thanks in advance, WIGMAN.

That is what im looking for, some all-inclusive complex which is of a good standard and near beach for some snorkelling.

Tell us what it's like when you get back - I'm going there in October.

Booked the Reef Oasis Blue Bay Resort And Spa. 5 Star luxury and nothing to do but laze :clap2:

stayed at sonesta beach all inclusive (narma bay) to hot when i went about 45-50 degrees, good time to go now.

i also stayed at sonnesta beach(sea-side not casino side?) and it was lovely! not right in the middle of naama bay but a nice walk along the promenade(15 minutes) it had 5 pools and they were never crowded even though we had to jump in every 15 minutes due to the heat( 45+ in day 26+ at night in September) didnt really use the restaurants but there are some decent ones along the way..and some crap ones too! tis true the place is full of diving centres so well worth doing some diving, also worth going quad-biking in desert(class) sooo cheap for a holiday there its worth going once....btw camal bar for sport:thumbsup:

Be warned it was around a mile hike out to sea to get to somewhere to snorkel.

I will have a look at that one,who did you book it with?
and yes i will let you know what its like!

Against my better judgement - Thompson. Their flights are awful but the cost of the overall package was by far the cheapest.

You've mention jetties to get to a decent diving place - this hotel has one ( it was the pictures on Thompsons web site what won it for me  )

we went first week of kids holiday up to 36 degrees at 3 in the morning ! more near the casino end. fantastic place. the only real advice i would give is do not engage in conversation with friendly sounding egyptians in town centres. they have a shop just around the corner and then its the hard sell! if your not interested just be polite and keep walking!

Thanks for the link!

Ill have a look.

It is a short taxi ride into Naama Bay, but there are plenty of places just outside the hotel.

It is right on the beach.

Would suggest you upgrade to a Select Suite (i think thats what its called) they are huge and have a hammock on your own private terrace, however the jaccuzzi bath is a bit of a con as it is just a normal bath with a built in jaccuzzi not some flashy hot tub thing that I was expecting!!

Staff are ever so friendly, food is good, beer is good and there is a dive school right on the beach which is associated with the hotel.

Ive heard that some of the beaches have jettys that give you access to deep enough water to snorkel in. Is this true?

Yes but not hours, think it was 50p a time tax to snorkel

Boat trips were superb and brilliant snorkelling
