No, what's happened is the human body has stopped evolving and we're now in the regression stage of development. So now footballers are much slower, have poorer hand to eye coordination, smaller, weaker and are basically worse than what they were 20/30 years ago.

This has been the case for the last 60 years if you ask anyone who watched football as far back as then.
