One goal from a corner in 79 games I think they said on sky. Which doesn't seem right? I remember the burn one at Everton. When was the one before that ?
Didn't one of the OGs against Chelsea come from a corner?

A couple of the corners were excellent. One was going straight in and Martinez made a fine save. The only surprise was that he didn’t go down claiming broken fingers or a sprained wrist after pushing it out

Ha ha Norwich.

Be prepared for in attack, a load of floaty balls to the far post when everyone has run to the near and in defence, mismatches, free headers and 3 corners conceded equalling 1 goal

Watching the training/tour videos so far, I'd say Fabian is going to be quite hands on with set piece/throw in training!
Needs to go back to basics with throw ins, some of ours have been dreadful, especially the look around for 45 seconds before gently flopping the ball to the nearest player one. As for marginal gains I can categorically state that there is NO advantage to taking a corner with the ball barely hovering over the outside of the Corner D line.

But we want a specialist yeh?

Fab can't get bogged down in where people are moving to for a long throw.

By the way, if that is how we're going to play, hurling in to the near post, it will have been a good while since we've seen that!

Seems Knoop (the GK coach) was responsible for defending set pieces at St Pauli, while Nemeth (staying at St Pauli) was responsible for attacking set pieces.

So, presumably Knoop will continue taking on defending and someone else will take on the attacking.

So you might have seen in kids football (all under 9's to start and then gradually working up to under 11's) - heading has been banned and part of that new rule is that throw ins have also been banned. The kids can now kick OR dribble in. At first, I was anti the throwing ban and didn't see the point in it but having now seen it in action in various friendlies and tournaments, I am very pro banning throw ins and would like to see it come in at adult and professional level!

It makes the game so much quicker and more entertaining, the ball would be in play a lot more than it is at the moment. This is one change I would be very keen for Arsene Wenger to try and implement! I mean, why are throw ins in football in the first place?! It's illogical. Kick/dribbles in are far more in keeping with FOOTball.

I mean, why are throw ins in football in the fist place?! It's illogical. Kick/dribbles in are far more in keeping with FOOTball.
Kind of agree. But it should be a pass along the floor to discourage hoofs into the box which are probably better than a corner and opposition should be 10 yards, like from a corner

Good riddance he is clearly shit at his job, set pieces have been rubbish for a long time. I did wonder last season how a club that gets so much right had got this so wrong. League 1 standard set pieces without the 6ft 7inch players

"Set piece taker"
Neither hand held aloft is a signal that the ball can go anywhere.
A single hand held aloft is a signal that the ball can go anywhere.
Both hands held aloft is a signal that the ball can go anywhere.
Disclaimer: Anywhere can also mean the first defender's head.

Fans.
A single hand held on the forehead is a signal= Disclaimer in effect.
