The architecture of Guildford is an unashamed mixture of ancient and modern. From it's Norman Castle through to the elegant lines of the office block currently being constructed opposite the Friary Centre, this is a town that refuses to conform to one given style. Incongrously a mill sits between the mid-twentieth century edificies of Debenhams and the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, yet somehow the mill isn't out of place, it's own substantial portions probably having given rise to much local comment at the time of construction.....
