Scrap the ticket exchange? So if you can't get rid of the ticket yourself, then tough, the seat is empty? No thanks.

Sorry, but that comes from my inability to ever shift my spare ticket on the exchange. I concede others may have had more positive experiences.

I think bringing the scheme during Covid Times is the exact wrong time to bring it in. Look at our demographics, we have a lot of elderly fans, mainly in the East Stand I would guess. With all the fear porn coming from the government and media, of course a lot of them weren’t going to turn up, but that’s not to say that many of them wouldn’t lent their tickets to someone else if they didn’t have to pay extra to do so. The low crowd was mainly a result of being worried about this new variant (despite the scientist who found it said it’s a much less severe form of Covid, more akin to a cold) the kick off date/time and the scheme just made it even worse.

The mate I go with has only made it to a couple of games this season, mainly due to the change in kick off times, normally he would’ve lent it to someone else, so I had someone to go with. For the most part I’ve gone to games on my own this season and frankly it’s taken it’s toll. He won’t be renewing, that’s because he’s not feeling he’s getting his money’s worth, he doesn’t want to have to use a smartphone to get in (from next season) and really didn’t like the reply he got from the club when he emailed them about it. I can’t be bothered to go on my own anymore, this in itself wouldn’t be enough to stop me going, but the lack of banter with away fans (because they are so far from the North Stand) is leaving me to think that I won’t be renewing next season. I’ve had a season ticket since Withdean, I used to go with a group of fans who were all old school Goldstone Brighton, none of them go now, it’s just depressing.

To expect a season ticket holder to pay EXTRA for a game they won’t attend is just bonkers and not very fan (or should I say ‘customer’) friendly. Personally, although Barber has got a lot right over the years, I think he’s had a bit too much of something and it’s effecting his professional judgment.

I’m not sure what we want from PB. He replies quickly to complaints and like it or not he is consistent and clear in his responses. I wouldn’t be surprised if the system is amended at the end of the season following feedback. What he can’t do at this stage is a) admit it isn’t working (when it might be), b) promise changes and c) dish out a standard “thanks for your communication, we will consider all your points in due course”, that would placate some in here.

The cheap shots by WAB were so easy for PB to dismiss that you wonder if the report was a plant!

Now isn’t the time to change the system for many many reasons.

PB must dread us losing knowing full well the flack and criticism he will receive about all and sundry.

Ah what a shame for PB I’m guessing the £3m salary more that makes up for it.

That or an android. Well, that’s what he was told. I may be wrong, but I think the club were keen on phasing out physical tickets.

I think Paul Barber has been brilliant, but what is annoying fans is the little things. Stuff like bottle tops and not being able to give your season ticket to a mate without the club yet again taking another 'pound of flesh' is just annoying.

He should keep focused on the big things and stop meddling with the little things where often the club comes across like it is treating supporters like children. PB has to remember that many of us were here long before he was and as a result, we feel a sense of ownership. When that sense of ownership - no matter how much of an illusion it is - gets messed with, then the natives get restless.

I've had a conversation with PB about fan ownership in the past. I know he is very much against it and thinks the model won't work. However, as people keep pointing out - it works in Germany.

The 20 pound fee for STs is too much - should just be a nominal £5 charge to cover costs. I have no problem with the attender having the buy the 25 pound membership but it's the club just doing double-taxing on the same item that sticks in the craw. Also, say you are a family of 3 that may pass tickets on to someone over the course of the season when different people can't attend - that's a Barber tax of £60 on one family. That's gouging by the club I'm afraid

Is it still proposed that STH's must attend (six or seven?) home games this season in person or lose their ticket next season ? If so I can see a mass flounce on the horizon . :flounce::flounce::flounce::flounce::flounce::flounce:

The T&Cs say the club can revoke a season ticket if not 25% of games attended I think it was. I highly doubt they would enforce it unless they suspect some kind of foul play.

If the club punish ST holders for choosing not gather with over 30,000 people during a pandemic week in week out they have lost the plot.

Especially as I've never once seen anyone have their LFT checked and hardly anyone wears a mask.

Add to the fact we have one of the most remote stadiums in the league, meaning a lot of fans have to cram onto trains and busses to make the game.

They will not enforce if you pay a fee

There is simply no way the club will penalise non-attendance in the pandemic. I have had my criticisms on this thread but can not believe that this will be a feasible outcome.

£20 for each match missed, plus a small service charge and a .... ahem ......nominal fee to cover the administration. Could turn out cheaper than sharing your ticket, eh? Everyone's a winner ...

The danger now is that you can watch every game on certain boxes etc on your TV on your Sofa and COVID Safe with no hassles of waiting to show a pass to get in, a crowded train and also currently a terrible atmosphere in the ground, with a couple of cans from Tesco's which will be half the price of The Amex.
You can cherry pick your Saturday 3.00pm home games if you fancy it and pay £20.00 to join Albion plus and if you fancy a few away games, as most now go down to that level and the majority of away games are at decent times so you can have a jolly on the train etc with your mates.

That's what quite a few on here will be thinking now and I'm one of them.
