SUNNY SEAFORD
After years of trying Seaford Town F.C. have finally got permission for floodlights at The Crouch. Now they can think about promotion, after all Seaford is a lot bigger than Lewes.:clap2: :drink:

Is Seaford bigger than Lewes ?

I was always under the impression that Lewes had a bigger population ?

The last time I was there I saw tumbleweed blowing down the high street!

In the Aviation world Seaford is a very very important place indeed.

What with floodlights, the sloping pitch, rusty goal posts and the 'grandstand' that must hold 24 people Ryman League football can only be light years away.

:lolol:

Its a beacon, a reporting point for Air Traffic Control and one of the points that most aircraft inbound to London and the rest of the UK have to fly over.

If its closed, or has a problem then ATC in the UK would grind to a halt.

Saw the Seaford keeper sustain a broken leg in a match in the early 80s and he KEPT PLAYING. Only when a backpass strength shot later got past him was he stretchered off. Now that's the calibre of player we lack today...

Seaford:18,825 (early closing Wednesday)
Lewes: 13,919 (early closing Wednesday)

Admittedly this is based on the 1981 census. I know of two people who have died in Seaford since then, and one in Lewes, so perhaps the margin is narrowing.
