This could have a domino effect for other transfers.

Hopefully we start to bring in our half dozen signings soon as our selling picks up pace.

We’ve already sold Davy and set Izzy free.
We need to continue to move players on and free up the salary budget for some goal scorers.

These fellas must surely be looking at pastures new?

Add Gyökeres, Mlakar ( Hajduk Split ? Ludogorets ? ), Băluţa ( Farul Constanta ? ) and there is a lot of departures to arrange.

6 1/2 weeks until the season starts ; 8 1/2 weeks until the ( England ) window shuts !

Nice thought but:

- We wouldn't pay his asking price
- We can't afford his wages
- Bigger teams than us would want him
- Man Utd will still want to keep him

He might go out on loan, but even then that's not how we operate at the moment, and even if we did, he would go to a bigger club than us.
Yes, the trouble with taking cast offs from the like of City, United, Chelsea and the like is they're on humungous wages - and won't sign for anybody who can/will only offer them a fraction of that (other than loans with the parent company paying most of the wages - like the Wayne Bridge deal we did. Boy! was that a cracker or was it not!)
Other than deals like that, they're essentially spoiled for smaller clubs, at least until they're in the terminal stages of their careers and wake up and smell the coffee and realise they won't be elite footballers for ever.

I think Coventry want Gyokeres, and that we're willing to let Mlakar go. Baluta? - I'm not sure. Might be keeping Clarke as a genuine left-footed left-sided defender (we're a bit short on those). Lots of loans to be arranged, I think (and a few we really need, to be brutally honest, to get rid of).

You must be privy to some sensitive Albion financial information to make those top two statements.
