Sir Alex Ferguson claimed Manchester United paid the price for the penalty they were awarded against Arsenal.
Referee Graham Poll denied United two penalty appeals as they were shut out by City in the Manchester derby.
Ferguson said: "After what happened against Arsenal, we're going to be penalised for that.
"No way was the referee going to give us a penalty today, somebody would have needed to have been hit with an axe for us to get one."
United had a strike force of Smith (£8 mill), Saha (£12 mill), Rooney (£25 mill) and Ronaldo (£13 mill), and he is still clutching at straws arguing for a dodgy penalty. Wonder what he would make of a strike force of Knight, Currie and Piercey?
