You don't seem to mention that McGhee kept us in the Championship so we had two season there. Clearly, based on our circumstances, we were boxing above our weight.

Maybe, though I don't like the 'boxing above our weight' cliche. But like someone else said, that wasn't really the point of my post. It's already a pretty long post, if I was to add in all the various arguments and details of every manager since McGhee it would have been probably at least three times longer, and no one would want to read that.

Besides, I was writing it at work so couldn't write a dissertation.

My point was simply regardless of what the team was doing (surviving in the championship, fighting relegation, mid table, or skirting with play offs), the fans had been split along various lines for 4+ years, Slade, through success, passion, eloquence, motivation etc has got the fans to unite.
