Rodwell slid in (at a not particularly wild speed) with one leg tucked under his body, his leading leg had his studs pointing at the ground, his leading foot got the ball and Suarez continued into his path and their lower legs knocked each other. It looked to me like suarez made it look more dramatic by throwing himself to the ground.

Everton fans were, I think rightly, a bit miffed when a liverpool player made an almost identical challenge (leg tucked under body, leading leg getting the ball with studs down, follow through led to collision of lower legs) and all they got was a free-kick.
