Top Gear presenter hurt in crash
Richard Hammond
The presenter was reportedly testing a jet-powered car
Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond is in a critical condition in hospital after a crash in a jet-powered car while filming for the programme.
The presenter, 36, was taken by air ambulance to a Leeds hospital which has a special neurological unit.
A North Yorkshire Ambulance Service spokesman said he was unconscious when they got to the scene but was regaining consciousness at the hospital.
A BBC spokesman confirmed the presenter had been injured during a shoot.
I've never been a big fan of the show, I can't say I like the presenters very much, don't wish ill upon them, of course, but they've been tempting this sort of stupid, stupid fate for ages. Just wish it had been Jeremy Clarkson instead. Sorry to be unsympathetic, hope the guy recovers and all that, just think it's been coming.
Would have thought after the thread about the 13-year-old boy dying in the car crash the other week some people on this site might have learnt a thing or two about humility. Obviously not.
