I always found it amusing that the club most associated with Eastend had the nickname "Irons" and the kit manufacturer "Pony"

I think officially their nickname is the Hammers, but many people including their own supporters refer to them as the Irons.

The other club you may be thinking of I think are Scunthorpe who are known as the Iron. Strangely they play in the same colours as WHU.
