if you never read another book again, can i recommend The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas, by John Boyne

I have just finished it and it is one of the most powerful books I have ever read

It is basically a kids book, but believe me it is not.

Thanks, Mrs Hut is currently reading this so I will definitely have it off her (so to speak)

The ending was pretty telegraphed imho, not as though you turned that last page and thought "Shiver me frickin' timbers what a turn up!" That said, well written and does what it says on the tin (i.e. tells a tale about a boy who wore stripey pyjamas in 'Outwith').

;)

I read it last year - having originally bought it for my 15 year old son.

Excellent book - I think it's now a film as well.

It's not depressing is it?
Can't handle these books where the kids suffer.
