....just seen it on Sky. What game was the lino watching??

For those of you who haven't seen it the ball crosses the dead ball line but about a yard (at least) wide of the goal however lino gives a goal. The daft thing is the referee was in a very good position to see (it was a corner) and it was a Reading player that flicked the ball back off the line back in to play.

If I was a Watford fan yesterday I would have been furious!

Worst decision I've ever seen in football that.

Linesman should never officiate again for that !!

what a disgrace

shambolic decison made by the linesman. would have thought reading would have allowed watford to score as happend previously in a match (possibly arsenal v sheff utd??)

Should have gone to Specsavers!

Unbelieveable decision.

The Officials probably won't get another match at Championship level again, which probably means we'll get them soon!

Oh dear.

Attwell is 25, and he reffed Pompey last week and made a howler of it (penalties that weren't. etc). To be honest, it was the linesman's fault, but the ref should have opened his ears and listened to the complaints - he must have realised something was wrong with the decision. It doesn't happen that often, however, dodgy refereeing is something that all teams think they suffer from on a regular basis - perhaps they should bring in video replays?

Why didn't Reading simply refuse the goal or allow Watford a free goal from the kick off ?
They are as bad as the ref and lino for accepting the goal.

All of the Reading players knew it wasn't a goal and should have made it clear to the ref. If any of them thought they had scored why didn't they crowd around the ref protesting like players do these days? They were all dropping back to prepare for the goal kick weren't they?

Still, at least they'll have rid the game of 2 officials who might have been demoted to our division....

same thing happened in a Barca game I think, lino waved a goal when it crossed the line for a goalkick/corner. that game was replayed

Thought Rob Styles was 4th Official at stamford Bridge today?

Hhmmm. Well Atwell was there, maybe reserve lino/ref or something. He was definitely on screen in official outfit and mentioned by the commentators.

What the f*** was the lino thinking? I could understand it slightly more if a Watford player had kept the ball in, but why the hell would a Reading player try and cross the ball if it had already crossed the line for a goal? Unbelievable.
