El-Abd in centre midfield ahead of Rodger. How did you come to that conclusion?

With that team we will get murdered every week IMO

I believe that it will be Harding at left back unless he does really well in the friendlies when MM says he is going to try him in midfield. Please not Hinshlewood even as a sub!!

Can Blackwell play at left-back? If he can this is my team without any new signings:

Roberts
Virgo Butters Cullip Blackwell
Reid Rodger Carpenter Harding
Piercy Robinson

We'll still be down by Christmas with that team though. Please make some signings McGhee

As it's Reading away, and realistically we're going for a 0-0, I would stick with exactly the same defensive spine that we used in Cardiff. And then I'd play five in midfield to edge the battle there, particularly using Oatway to counter Sidwell. I'd stick Jake up front and let him use his energy and pace to keep the Reading defence on their toes, getting Jonah and Piercy to counterattack forward quickly in support if they get the opportunities.

Yes, it's very conservative, but I make no apologies for that without getting in some new fire-power up front.

Roberts
Virgo, Cullip, Butters, Harding
Piercy, Oatway, Carpenter, Rodger, Jonah
Robinson.

Subs: Kuipers, Hinshelwood, Reid, Hart, McPhee.

I actually like the idea of trying El Abd in midfield, he looks more comfortable on the ball than either Harding or Virgo, but it appears that McGhee thinks Harding has that bit more experience to cope with such a transition successfully. I'm not so sure why he's bothering, I think we have enough options in midfield with Rodger back and Reid signed.

Blackwell will not play at left back.

El Abd is a central midfielder.

Paul Reid is shit on the right of midfield.

We will have a new striker.

Do not forget Dave Lee has reinvented himself as a central midfielder.
