The better way is to pull the two handles apart. There are two tabs that stick up, when you pull the handles apart, you are then able to easily pull the top open, because the tabs have separated.
That's one sad fact to know.

I can't be arsed with spending time cooking food unless it's a roast.

It is for me. Scrambled eggs in the microwave invariably comes out leathery - not how scrambled eggs are supposed to be (slightly runny).

The fun is in the creativity in cooking each dish. No two roasts are the same, no two pasta dishes are the same, no two curries are the same, no two chillies... you get my drift.

For clearing up, that's what the other half is for. I mean, it's only fair.
