Racism claims prove to be utter nonsense

As The Laughing Bluebird once said ... "Sheepshaggers" are the lads that travel down from the Valleys to watch Cardiff City. There are no sheep in Cardiff, but loads on the hillsides around Merthyr. I dare say the Merthyr lads think sheep shagging only starts once you get into Breconshire.

Either way, it's not racism.

And why was the complainant allowed to be anonymous?

If you're going to make false allegations, at least have the balls to put a name on it!

Neither is the correct answer, prejudice of any kind is wrong. But you will never stamp it out anywhere. On the terraces of the 70s/80s it was terrible, I lost count of how many times players like Terry Conner was a black something or other, when his shot went slightly wide. Every Welsh team were sheep shaggers, every northerner lived in a slum and there wasn't one scouse bastard with a job. Just as every single one of us who lives in Brighton and Hove are gay. As a disabled person I have been very lucky and not experienced prejudice, but many others have. I think a lot of people sing things at football they don't really mean, but does that make it alright?

That is the point we constantly have homophobic chants aimed at us and has any action / investigation happened ?

Oh I totally agree Beach Hut, but I am sure it would be brushed under the carpet as harmless banter. If away supporters were kicked out for singing homophobic songs, the South stand would be empty. Same with away from home, the vast majority of singing stands at any club would be empty too. I am sure that somebody will complain about it, but I can see little getting done.

I was at a Swedish prem game last week and a load were making monkey noises and aiming other racist remarks at an opposing player.

Oddly, I spotted one of the worst culprits was a non-white ('swarthy') person.
I'm informed that it's illegal in Sweden too, but sadly they didn't clamp down on it at the time.

I never found it funny when I heard it at The Goldstone, and it was a bit sickening to hear it nowadays I must say.
