amazing achievement from the small normandy club based just outside rouen

they currently lie 14th in the 3rd tier of french football and have a ground capacity of just 2,200

they have already knocked out marseille & rennes on the way to the final and now meet lyon, who are currently 4th in ligue 1

i guess it would be something like a arsenal-crawley fa cup final, god forbid!

Giant-killing in the French Cup is more frequnt because the tie is always decided on one match. A lower level team can pay out of their skins in that one match even if it goes to penalties especially if the higher level team is over confident or has a bad day. Think what might have happened to Albion in recent cup matches against non-league side if there had been no replays.
