A 'friend' of mine has just bought a PSP and has seen DVD's on Ebay that contain 30 or so games for Sony's style over substance machine for a tenner.

Clearly he abhors games piracy, but would like to know if these DVD's are any good and can the games be transferred to the PSP via the mammory stick, or whatever geekoid device is used.

Thanks in advance (from him)

I've not seen this.

Did your friend give you a link?

I also have a friend who might be interested

Bear in mind, the money made from such items often goes to fund organised crime and drug running, don't do it, buy the original game.

I've told you this already El P these will not work on your (mates) version 2.0. You can roll-back to an earlier version but you run the risk of "bricking" your (mates) machine (not worth it).

....and why buy these DVD's when you can download the games for free off the net

Cheers Thomas, the DVD comes with the firmware to convert the PSP to 1.5 apparently.

How do people rip them off the net?

Ripping them off the 'net is easy, it's just f***ing about with your firmware that's the tricky part.

There are torrent sites everywhere full of PSP rips which you can simply load onto a memory stick

What Dwayne said.

And as a warning - i got hold of one of these discs. As luck would have it, I updated Norton about the same time, and it found 2 virus' hidden away that weren't spotted in the first set of checks.

Torrentspy is the way (hoping Star Wars battlefront will be waiting for me when I get home).

Dwayne - what fastloader / software do you use import the game?

Fastloader 0.7 (I think) which works for most of the games. For other games that don't work with it I'll just check on PSP forums.
