Being questioned about the Governments' lack of committment to sport due to half the playing fields in the UK having 'gone' in the last 13 years.
He said that the Gov was extremely committed to developing sport & facilities for the next generation...
Let's hope so then...

Excellent, incisive hard-hitting deep analysis from the Political Editor of the Beano. Well done.

Beano? Bah never buy that tory rag.

I'm a whizzer and chips man.

To see howthe Labour government work I suggest a few viewings of Absolute Power or listen to the radio series.

Then you really will be scared.

does'nt matter what he said, he can still turn down Falmer on the basis that theres a possible better site and that Falmer...afterall...in his eyes...is'nt good enough!

Dont get your hopes up on one little sentance!

All the evidence pointing to Falmer being given the go-ahead is there.

1. We put up a blinding argument for Falmer at the Inquiry.

2. We rubbished the other sites quite easily and brilliantly at the same time.

3. The anti-Falmer / pro-Sheepcote / pro-Shoreham Harbour / pro-Toads Hole people arsed up their evidence at times with breathtaking stupidity

4. Prescott hates NIMBYs. I mean seriously HATES them.

5. Labour are coming to Brighton in September. They have enough security issues without having to worry about an unwelcoming city population.

6. Labour will want to keep Brighton & Hove City Council as a Labour controlled / Labour majority authority

7. The government wants more sports and activity facilities built for communities to use

7. We had a top 20 single this year about it, and Prescott loves popular beat combos - especially playing with an exotic Jamaican-style backbeat

However... he can still say no. Personally, I doubt it, but we shall see.
