1 Chelsea 8 12 21
2 Man Utd 8 11 19
3 Tottenham 8 7 16
4 Arsenal 7 14 15
5 Liverpool 8 10 15

BORING!

Why is this continued dominance allowed.

Draft system please!!!!!

I would simply introduce a "Euro Playoffs" at the end of the season. Works for other league in this country, don't see why the Premiership should be any different.

Won't solve everything but will create the opportunity for a team or two outside of the big four to make it through.

Problem with the Champions League is that the financial rewards from one season ensure qualification the next year round.

Exactly the same as giving the winner of the Olympic 100 metres a ten metre start in four years time. In my mind that's just perverse and needs something like I've suggested to act against it.

Then it should become common place, maybe one country should start off by implimenting the Draft system, in AFL there's a different champion every season, i'd rather that (and im sure most fans of other teams) than the current hierarchy bollox

The best teams are at the top of the league? Why on earth is this the case?

You are probably too young to remember what it used to be like in the old days.

The break of the Premiership was strongly lobbied for by the "top teams" because they saw the financial rewards it would bring to a select few.

That's effectively what they wanted, less competition and increased financial rewards. Add the Champions League and you now you have a system that ensures perpectual success and the likelihood that 3 or 4 teams will dominate.

They got it, but to infer that's it's natural and simply because they are the "best teams" is a bit naive. Some of us can even remember Chelsea as a mid table side.

If you are really interested in the politics of football it's worth buying a few books and reading what happened around the time of the break off. One of the reasons the top teams gave was that it would enable them to use the money to invest in home grown players and would thus improve the fortunes of the England Squad....

Spurs are 3rd and if Man City pick up 4/6 points from their two games in hand they'll be top. Hardly "normal" is it?

AFTER 7/8 GAMES!! give it a few more games my frend...........only the FA have the power to restrict the dominance, and implement the socialist system of Drafting

CG is right it was a con although I would say for all the hatred of Man Utd they have invested in English talent more than some.

But you're starting this thread after....... 7/8 games. And right now, the premiership isn't looking normal. There are two new teams in the top five and one could go top if they win their games in hand. They've also got an exciting new team put together at considerable cost that, at the very least, will provide serious entertainment. At most could win the league. I agree the "big four" crap can be tedious, but it's not happened yet this season to be fair.

But you can almost bet your mortgage that it will end up the same top 4, even if man city break into it, so it becomes the 'big 5', it still stinks to me. Just get fed up with the same thing year after year. Nothing EVER changes. It's just not exciting (not the actual football) the end result after 38 league matches is just a repeat of the previous season

Why are there one or two new teams challenging? Spurs will subside, eventually, as they do not have the cash. Man City may well take the title or run it close.

The big four is crap, but now we are looking at the "big five" or worse with so much outside investment. Why is it worse to have more teams competing? Because wages are going to be driven up. Countless average players earn far more than they should, simply becuase the market dictates it.

Morally, should someone like Bradley Wright-Phillips earn £8k (basic) as week?

Not Luton! Thank God
But when has it ever been different. From 75 til 90 Liverpool won 10 titles. At least now there is a good selection of teams that could win it, rather than it being Liverpool vs one other or Man Utd vs one other

so there's a couple more teams than there was in the 70's so what, it still doesn't make it fair play, it still sucks for the other possible 30 or so teams from big enough cities and with big enough support who'll never (with the current regime) get a shot at the title

Draft system please!!!!!

draft from where? i may be wrong, but thats just how new recruits are brought into the american football pro game from the college leagues. the underlying reason for more variable performance from each team is salary caps. again, my understanding is this is possible as all the teams are "franchises" so budgets and such can be set.

what you ask is for all clubs in England, and indeed europe, to give up ownerhsip and control to a central body. :nono:
