PL clubs and EFL also will need to bite the bullet and collectively reduce players wages in order for them to survive rather than keep up the charade of this season finishing. The wages are very obscene when a large percentage of the workforce are furloughed for the foreseeable and some poor souls losing are their jobs completely.
Clubs doing their upmost to pay the players full wages over their everyday workforce need to give their heads a wobble

It is hard to register a protest at the possibility of a Div 1 footballers wages being reduced to 5k a week whilst he's got his feet up. I'm trying but it's just not working.

A number of WW2 veterans boycotted Japanese/German goods all their lives.

It's a LOT harder to boycott Chinese goods given that many Western companies use them for manufacturing.

Anyway, we live in a different world now where price often comes before principles.

The Swedish football federation has recently announced that practice games are to be allowed with certain restrictions. No more than 50 people to be on or around the pitch. All players must be healthy and should preferably change into and out of their kit at home (!). Players are not allowed to share water bottles and disinfectant needs to be available.

Yes, but unfortunately this is UEFA we're talking about!

That sounds like madness. EUFA seem to be working against football with that stance.
Yes, I was initially thinking about UEFA's lack of leadership. I forgot to factor in their innate selfishness - guess they'll put all considerations of national leagues and cups aside as long as they can get the Champions League completed!

a couple of major leaugues decide to make their own arrangments, say UK and Italy, UEFA will backtrack. and at present its outside football authorities control with political decisions on when lockdowns and events can commence.

Quite

Even 1 of the big 5 leagues and they will change their minds

CL without Barca or Real?

Won’t happen

If it does it’s bye bye UEFA and hello rival cup

Be the beginning of the end of internationals as well

These people are insane. Have they not spotted that other major sporting events scheduled for July/August have already been cancelled (Wimbledon, Olympics, British Open Golf, etc), with most others due for the chop soon. Have they not understood that social distancing of some sort will HAVE to continue until a vaccine is found. Do these people not even read a newspaper??!!

Sweden haven't closed schools or restaurants yet have they? They're on a different strategy to everyone.
