What surprises me tbh is that our list of potential strikers has presumably been run through without success and we seem to be grabbing at last minute possibilities.

That's quite an assumption. For a start, we have no idea who Gus has looked at and how long he's been on our radar. Secondly, it's quite normal to recieve a suggestion and to then take a look at them.

Completely agreed.

We all knew that Forster and Dickinson wouldn't be here this season. We should of been trying to sign a striker late June early July. It's only 2 and a half weeks until the first game and leaving it until after the Portugal tour to get a striker is abit worrying.

I think the problem is that the quality of striker we're looking for will also have plenty of other, better clubs after them.

Why don't we just sign Jermain Easter

Is he an improvement on what we have already got?
Does he want to come?
Do Gus and our scouting/management team rate him?
Would we be willing to spend six figures plus on a striker that averages 1 in 4 games and has spent the vast majority of his career in the lower leagues?

Is he an improvement on what we have already got? He might not be an improvement but he gives us something different

Does he want to come? Im sure he would if he could

Do Gus and our scouting/management team rate him? Don't know

Well 14 in 36 games in his previous season isn't exactly 1 in every 4 games. Its more 1 of in every 2/3 games and plus MK Dons aren't the greatest of teams.

Heard a rumour in the pub at the weekend that we have spoken to Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank but checking Wikipedia he retired from Cardiff in 2008 is now 38 and training with Woking to keep fit while he takes his EUFA A licence so would think it is just that a rumour that is unfounded unless Gus has approached him about coaching our strikers.

Would think him and Gus were at Chelsea together and perhaps he could coach Murray Barnes & Holroyd as he was quite a good striker in his day. Can you coach a striker to become another BZ or Jimmy Greaves or is it a natural thing that you either have or havent got.

as stupid as it sounds there is some logic to BGs post about Jimmy, why train with Woking and earn your badges when you can train with Brighton and gain better experience of coaching at a higher level!

just a rumour of course, but it could be a FLAIR coach signing :)
