The information from National Rail which TLO posted didn't make a lot of sense for the Saturday as it suggested there would be trains from Portsmouth to Bognor (which would need to reverse at Barnham) and also trains from Brighton to Bognor - which would also need to go through Barnham. Meanwhile Arun Valley trains from London would be diverted to Littlehampton and terminated. In which case why have the buses from Littlehampton to Barnham and why not have the usual through trains?

The information now on National Rail and Southern is now a lot clearer:

Southern

The following alterations will apply:

Saturday
Buses replace trains between Littlehampton and Barnham / Chichester
Buses replace trains between Bognor Regis and Barnham
Buses replace trains between Littlehampton and Southampton Central
Additional trains will run between Portsmouth Harbour and Chichester
Trains between Brighton and Southampton Central / Portsmouth Harbour will not run

Trains between Bognor Regis and Barnham / Littlehampton will not run
Trains between Brighton and West Worthing will be extended to start / terminate at Littlehampton

Sunday
Buses replace trains between Littlehampton and Chichester
Buses replace trains between Littlehampton and Southampton Central
Additional trains will run between Portsmouth Harbour and Chichester
Trains between Bognor Regis and Littlehampton will not run
Trains between Brighton and Southampton Central / Portsmouth Harbour will start terminate at Littlehampton
Trains between Bognor Regis and Littlehampton will not run

So from Portsmouth to Brighton it's train to Chichester, then bus to Littlehampton via Barnham & Ford, then train to Brighton. Presumably both trains are calling at all stops, making it a long old journey. There are no direct trains provided between Southampton and Chichester, but there is a bus from Southampton to Littlehampton instead, which is what Albion or Pompey fans travelling from places like Fareham or Cosham could use.
It doesn't say what happens to Arun Valley trains, but presumably they are still diverted to run into Littlehampton from Arundel.

Arun Valley usually run from Arundel to Barnham, then to either Bognor or Portsmouth or Southampton, with the line through Ford closed this train is diverted to Littlehampton.

Southern journey planner is saying that trains are terminating at Barnham, then a bus to Littlehampton, then a train calling at all stations to Brighton. Ive no idea where you got the above info from Cosmic Joker but thats totally different from what the National Rail website says for the 10th January.

I can see no logical reason why Pompey needs to be a 'bubble' game. They pose no more of a threat to public order than Milwall or Palace did?

I would say that historically there has been more trouble at matches when Brighton have played at home to Portsmouth than against any other team, they always have been our arch rivals.

Palace are our rivals but any West Sussex Seagull over a certain age will class Sh*tsmouth as the enemy.

All Pompey trains are terminating at Barnham, Three Bridges trains are starting at Littlehampton, as well as the Brighton ones so theres no point going via Three Bridges

Ah! Fairy Nuff.
