...any formation, other than 4-4-2, tried by England in the last 10 years then LB.

Can I be controversial and suggest John Barnes?

An entire International career based on one goal.

good goal mind!

I wouldn't have Chris Powell in there, he really wasn't a bad player at all, but I guess that is just my opinion.

Whaaaat? A team featuring (in no particular order)...

Keegan
Coppell
Clemence / Shilton (DSTIITM?)
Watson
Hughes
Mills
Cherry
Barnes
Worthington (though not enough times)

...it wasn't that bad, you know.

Oh they had good players. They just never qualified for anything! (our Scottish friends always did!)

It was a deadly dull/frustrating time to be watching England.

Two goals. He also bent in a free kick against the Dutch under Graham Taylor.

The sad thing is that technically we have some of the best players for several generations, it is just that the tactics of a succession of England managers is squandering it!

Trevor Cherry and Brian Greenhoff have to be in it. Peter Storey was truly awful too.

Two Albion players could get in: Marks Barham and Chamberlain were well below England class.

Maybe a wee bit harsh on Rob Green there, there have been keepers much worse than him playing for England.
