I think that it was the first caller on who suggested not renewing Reids contract but I do agree that he is well past his best and if we want to play in the Championship I do not feel that he would fit the bill.

I suggested letting Mayo Hart, Hinshlewood Butters plus some of the young ones who have not realised their potential go.

We're not IN the championship though. And when fit, Reids versatility and experience is a real asset to the squad. He's been unlucky with injuries, but he's still got something to offer in my opinion.

Yup I'd offer Reid and Hinselwood short contracts to prove their fitness. In the case of Reid it's whether or not he can get back to his best - at the start of last season he was crucial. With Hinshelwood there is only so much time you can give him before you unfortunately have to give up. I think many will agree that he is, out of all the youth players we've had, the best defender of them all (him and Butters were an awesome pairing in their prime). Purely for the fact that I'd feel sick if I saw him playing for another club, I think it's worth taking a chance on him for a little longer. Personally I doubt he will play professional again though, although we can live in hope!

In your opinion Beach Hut, so why don't you ring?

In fact given you were so keen to get involved when Ed Bassford came on can you meet me in the Sportsman at 1.30pm on Sat and you can first person in the new series "Before, during and after", when you get the opportunity to give us your wit and wisdom of all things Albion but in particular that days game, pre-match, half time and then on the phone-in.

At half time we will arrange for a steward to let you stand up early and you will be escorted round to the press box, I'll even get you a coffee, and then you can give your view at h/time and then at full time join JB and myself for part of the phone-in.

Up for it?

Just to clarify my "You go girl" comment - I was applauding Harty for calling out Beach Hut - not encouraging Beach Hut to go - although I think he should.

And just to clarify. I'm egging Beach Hut to go on the show! :)

I only have better things to do on Tuesday nights and always try to either give my ticket away or sell it ( and they have had my money) so i lose no sleep over not going!
