so 2 people have more of a say than 1,000!?!?!? seriously thats f***ing GASH!

Or, as another poster has already highlighted, it's about how valid the complaint is, not how many people complain.

NSC should definetely make it a mission to get an advert banned. Just need to find one we'd have a chance with!

Check this shit out:

BBC News - Burger King advert

A Burger King advertising campaign has been banned after complaints the chicken burger shown was bigger than the real thing, a watchdog has said.

Two viewers said the TV advert for the Tendercrisp burger was misleading.

The Advertising Standards Authority said it bought three burgers and found their thickness and the overall height was "considerably less" than in the ad.

TWO f***ing viewers.......TWO.......jesus wept about all that is mighty and pure this society has gone f***ing BONKERS, absolute joke...the ASA should've told those TWO people to stop being boring miserable twats....I mean SERIOUSLY.....an advert gets dropped because TWO people complained......f*** ME thats pathetic! :wozza:

/end rant

So you think false and misleading advertising is completely acceptable provided only a couple of people take the time to complain?

if only two people out of MILLIONS who viewed it can be arsed to be gay enough to complain then yes its fine, its the MORAL of the story....if every two people complained about things they dont like then EVERYTHING would be banned, its pathetic and another reason society is f***ed up its own arse with a one way trip down anal passage.

If their product doesn't match what they advertise then they should quite rightly be fined but also, they should be made to sit and watch Falling Down 10 times.

Everyone is free to make a complaint to the Advertising Standards authority, whose role is to regulate the content of advertisements, sales promotions and direct marketing in the UK by investigating complaints made about ads, sales promotions or direct marketing and deciding whether such advertising complies with its advertising standards codes. These codes stipulate that before distributing or submitting a marketing communication for publication, marketers must hold documentary evidence to prove all claims, whether direct or implied, that are capable of objective substantiation and that "no marketing communication should mislead, or be likely to mislead, by inaccuracy, ambiguity, exaggeration, omission or otherwise

In this case the complaints were that the images should did not represent what was actually being brought, which is why it was investigated, found to be misleading and the advert banned - this is why the 2 complaints were enough for this course of action to be taken. - The total number of complaints made shouldn't matter to the validity or the outcome of the investigation.

However if you think that misleading someone in an advert is acceptable, then maybe you would like to buy a car for $298,660 using an advert containing just the 1st picture - however once purchased you will find out you have actually brought the car in the second image normally costing approximately £21,700 new
