Some LEGENDARY Thursday nites have been had in the Pav Tav at the MFI night over the last couple of years.
Thursday nights were the best, only £1 to get in and £1.50 for drinks. Used to jump around like a mentalist for 3 hours and sweat my arse off! Oh happy days!

Sorry to butt in on a young pups' thread but I used to work in there during uni holidays in about 1989-1990. It was a brilliant place to work back then: the nice wine bar bit at the back where you could sneak a free snifter or two and then, once the pub shut, you'd go upstairs to the club and chat up drunken women from behind the bar. Scenes of marvellousness.

Is that the place that used to be called "Shades"

used to serve harveys.

and had a wine bar round the back ( to the right when you walked through the door) lots of candles etc etc.

Served cracking food too......Chunk of french Bread and pate

Me and Mrs DTG did our courting in there and we used to go there on a lunchtime from work. day before my wedding one of our clients made me eat one of their platters of chips/eggs/sossages/ham etc etc I was nearly sick but he said I would need the energy for tomorrow...LOL

That would have been 1976- 1983
