Does anyone know why Sunderland played "Paint Your Wagon" at full blast after the final whistle ? Its a jaunty little number I suppose, but I'm at a loss to understand what relevence it has in celebrating a Sunderland victory. Perhaps the significance are in the words:

Where are we goin'?
I don't know
When will we be there?
I ain't certain
What will we get?
I ain't equipped to say
But who gives a damn?
Who gives a damn?
We're on our way!

The Premiership ?

I was born under a wandering star.

Wheels are made for rollin'
mules are made to pack.
I've never seen a sight that didn't look better looking back.
I was born under a wandrin' star.

Actually, I'm starting to come round to that song...its an EXCELLENT footy verse. I can just imagine the South Stand in full voice...

Where are we goin'?
I don't know
When will we be there?
I ain't certain
What will we get?
I ain't equipped to say
But who gives a damn?
Who gives a damn?

Cheers for that Mackem.
What a BRILLIANT song to have, far better than shite like I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles, or *gags violently* Glad All Over.

I'm going to start a campaign to get us singing Paint Your Wagon at the Albion. I have a loudhailer under the stairs, it might just get an airing in D block on Saturday...
