My brother put £10.00 e/w on Clarke to win and got £790 back.

I hasten to add this was just one of his bets.

to get £790 back he must have had £10 e/w at about 60/1 ish

£10 at 60/1 = £600
Then his 2nd £10 quarter odds...so 15/1 pays £150
Plus his stake back..

perhaps he quoted his bet wrong, if by £10 he means he put a total of £10 (£5 each way) and at about 125/1 would pay what he got.
