There was a PC called an Oric that you could type in beep or crack or whistle and it would make a noise

I had a Dragon 32, ZX81, Atari 800xl but my mate had a BBC and we spent days playing Elite

remember getting the old screwdriver out and fiddling about with the tape deck trying to adjust it so it loaded the darn game, then with something like Carrier Command waiting 15 minutes for it to load.

Kids these days have no patience!
