Following on from the PONCHO debacle, it appears that some people value ONE POUND very highly indeed.

If you were lucky enough to find ONE POUND, and were so very lucky that you already had a PONCHO, what would be the BEST thing you could spend it on?

I vote for a pack of Walkers Sensations Sweet Chilli crisps and a can of COKE.

Good thread. I would buy some cashew nuts from the seafront newsagent I frequent and enjoy them with a home made cup of tea. Any change can go in the charity box.

I bought a cheese & onion sandwich in Somerfields at dinner time for exactly £1. That was the best pound I've spent today.

By AMAZING COINCIDENCE I also had cheese and onion for lunch, only mine was a big granary baguette from the Polish geezer's lunch-van. Unfortunately it was £1.20 and thus INELIGIBLE for the purposes of this thread.

I would donate it to a worthy charity like Sport Relief.

I once glued £1 to the pavement and watched people walk over to it and try pick it up. So if I found £1 I would probably do the same again ! !

I'm not convinced they'd let you into Withers with a hammer. Good idea though. You'd have to buy it from the POUND SHOP though. Decent hammers cost more than that.

one pound is the going rate for a deep fried mars bar at our local chippie, if you haven't tried one you should at least once never going to win a culinary prize but exceedingly good if you have a sweet tooth.
