must surely be mounting and framing a picture.

Ages ago I got a really nice antique map of Sussex very cheaply in a second hand shop. I've only just got around to buying a frame for it, and needed to cut the mounting card to size. If you look closely at it you can see how I made a total pig's ear of things. Then I had to get the bugger into the big (4ft by 2ft) wooden frame, and it kept getting stuck on the metal things... then when I went to hang it on the wall I noticed there was a great big speck of dust just over Hailsham. So out of the frame it comes, same process again... back on the wall.

It looks a bit crap if you study it closely, but at least I have a map of Sussex on my wall now! :clap2:

And why is picture framing so stupidly expensive?

Yes, my local pictureframing shop quoted me 60 quid! So I went and bought a frame for 20 and the craft knife/nails etc for about 75p.

At least the shop wouldn't have cocked it up, though.. perhaps that's why it's so expensive...

Don't worry. No-one's going to look closely.

I have the same problem with the cross-stitch pictures I do.
Ned is trying to mount one of the Seagulls crest I sewed for a friend's 40th birthday.
