Yes. I have. But snce you seem to be reading my comment as some sort of stammering contradictory statement of the obvious, I will clarify.

The reason a security officer will view a child as a potential threat is not because he has a sad miserable view of life where everything and everyone is a threat, it's because: sometimes children are threats.

Right, again evidence based or imagination?

You mean evidence like the two kids who a few days earlier grabbed the torch?

Ok so the evidence says 2 young children walk up to a man with a torch and get to touch it, police calmly escort the children away with smiles on their faces.
Next incident boy cycles nearby so the best thing to do, again based on "evidence," grab him in a head lock through him in front of a moving car and let the police deal with him? What caused him to do that, no evidence supported his actions.

The kids didn't just touch it, they tried to grab it off the runners - the evidence shows kids trying to get in the "bubble" and take the torch. Don't you think the security people got a bollocking for letting anyone, even kids, get their hands on the torch?

A friend of mine is doing it through London, given the amount of money he has raised for breast cancer. It is bad that some many people could have been highlighted for years sometimes decades of great work within a community in favour of someone with a wedge of cash from abroad. But good luck have to give us a time you are running so we can watch it online.

When I was asked and said 'yes' it was on the understanding that I would be one of 8000 local heroes.

To now find out that many of that number are Didier Drogba, Will I Am, Lewis hamilton etc who are there to add 'star quality' at the request of sponsors is a little galling.

To then find out that so many runners are executives from the main sponsors, Samsung, Lloyds Bank, Coca-Cola and EDF is really hammering the point that the Olympics are for sale, and has left a bad taste.

To then be told that as charity fundraisers we cannot raise money for our charities through the event or even mention the charities to the media, is a pretty awful legacy.

Just for the record, with my disabilities I won't be RUNNING anywhere. In fact I'm in danger of delaying it, so be patient if you are in Eastbourne after 3pm on 17th!!!!!

And here is why the torch excorts have to respond in fractions of a second.

I'm not denying that kids have done bad things, but your logic follows a "what if" principle. If you live in that world anything and everything is a danger and possible threat. Rather then "what is," which is based on scientific, evidence, based decision making, rather than a speculative, imaginary "what if" worse case scenario, where children are seen as possible threats. This is where dangerous and incorrect decision making comes from because there is no logic behind it, this thought process creates a situation where a child can be a threat. I would image that is what the copper has been taught, making this for me a deeper problem.

Saw that earlier and was going to post it, but I'm a lazy f***. Agreed, again he could of had a knife or anything in his hand.

Again where is the evidence to support your dramatic scenario? Why are you so scared of the British public?

This one was reportedly shouting Allahu akhbar as he approached the torch.

Teenager or not, those particular words are bound to spook people, for obvious reasons.

Abso-f***ing-lutely.

In 2012 nobody should be reminded of Kenneth Williams hamming it up as the Khasi of Khalabar in Carry On...Up the Kyber.

What do you mean by evidence? You need to be ready for the situation in the unlikely event it happens.

Just look into these guys and you might understand where i'm coming from Edward Bernays and Leo Strauss.
