Historically I think it was Sherry's (sp?) rather than Shelleys. I seem to remember seeing somewhere that Sherry's dated back many years and was even mentioned in an Agatha Christie book. This could just be a drunken recollection however

Sherrys became the Pink Coconut which is in West Street - Busbys was on the seafront

We knew it as the revulsion as there were so many rough sorts in there.

Jenkinson's was shit, I had the misfortune to work behind the bar there for a week.

Although I did see the Troggs play there one midweek evening. There were at least 20 people there!!!
