Stuff like:

  • smoking a pipe
  • snuff (the powder up your nose, not the movies)
  • spitting in the street
  • exhaling phlegm through your nose
  • tobacco leaves rolled up in your gums

Perhaps there are others...

My Dad cannot eat bacon without letting out a sigh and then saying "nice drop of bacon".

He also can't stand up without farting

Aye I still batter one of my missuses if she treacles my morning waffle pile incorrectly. And, I have a 76-year-old black butler called Petrius who I praise each morning for his pristine hat and surprisingly glorious and polished hunch. Other than that I'm a pretty modern chap.

Does anyone have a bowl in the fridge to keep oil/lard etc for re-use...? My Mum definitely did this into the 1990s but I imagine it is not common now.

A post Christmas thrift drive, combined with desire to comfort eat fried potatoes more regularly, has led me down this path and I can thoroughly recommend it.

Good, eh?

I still have this old fashioned habit, and, back in the old days, you were told that if you carried on with this habit you would go blind.

Now, when is my appointment for Specsavers?
