Old Away Pics 1979 and 1991

Man Utd 79 , Liverpool 79 .
1991 Wolves , Plymouth,Millwall, Bristol Rovers at Twerton Park and Sheffield Wednesday Leppings Lane End , a few short months after the disaster on a really balmy evening I looked around this great ground and wondered how the hell could something so tragic have happened there but sadly the evidence was below us where the barriers had stood and so many had died .......

Bringing back great memories of my youth these photo when travelling by train to all Brighton away games was the way it had to be. The Bristol Rovers photos is from when we won 3 - 1 down there if I'm correct.

Batch 2, pic 1, who'se the guy on the left with the beard? Remember him from the old coach trip days.

In reply to Edna and Wolves, I think the plan was to turn the pitch around 90 degrees but in the end they moved the pitch over as they rebuilt the other stands.

Molineux was a funny old ground, why did they have the stands so far from the pitch??

Because they were redeveloping the whole ground. The stand that is seen a long way from the touchline was the first built and the rest took a bit longer. When the others were built the pitch was moved closer to the stand. Think we beat wolves 4-1 or maybe 4-2.
