Ok - Let's come up with a brand new & original Albion song

Like the Sydney adaptation... easy tune but not one I've heard here before. Also, Brighton and Hove Albion to Seven Nation Army. The Les Mis tune does beg to be done by someone - it's made for a whole load of people belting it out so would be a goodie with the right words.

I really think we should do something to Louie Louie for Lua Lua - it's made for him.. suggested something like this before, and now thinking some rhythmic clapping would really be good as that's what seems to keep chants going...

Lua Lua
Oh yeah, you've gotta watch him go
yeh yeh yeh yehh
I said Lua Lua
Oh yeh, he's gonna score a goal
Yeh yeh yeh yeahhh

clap clap clap... clap clap.. clap clap clap..clap clap (and repeat forever!)

Also, I really think we need some better stuff for Gus. How about:

Uruguay, Argentina
Do you know we've never seen a
Team with the class
of Tanno and Gus
Walking in a Poyet wonderland.....

To Springsteen's 'Born to Run' tuneage...

'The stadium's jammed with broken heroes

On a last chance promotion drive

Everybody's out on the lash tonight

But there's nowhere left to hide

Together, Albion, we can live with the sadness

I'll love you with all the madness in my soul

Someday boys, I don't know when, we're going to get to that place

Where we really want to go

And we'll play in the Prem

But till then, tramps like us

Baby we are AL...BION!'

I thought we had one :-

Emily Pankhurst she's so sweet
She really is a deb
And when she's tied to railings
She thinks of Charlie Webb.

Nearly a week on and I'm still laughing about that.

It would sound amazing. I will try and think up some words. Will probably be shit though.

I quite like that.

Best one by a mile. All these cheesy lyrics suggested by everyone else are so embarrassing.......

Yeah, so come up with something yourself then. Most football song lyrics are cheesy and embarrasing, they are usually made up by fully grown men singing about their heroes who are half their age after all.

I also think something to the tune of this would sound great:

And we would drive 100 miles
And we would drive 100 more
Just to watch the mighty Albion
Because the Goldstone Ground they took

La da da da, la da da da
La da da da, la da da da
The mighty Brighton and Hove Albion

Better than my last effort?

I reckon we can come up with something more original than stealing Liverpool's Torres song and making it worse.

Over the rainbow (Brighton 'til I Die version)

I cannot get this song out of my head, it was/is a fantastic song, written by a true Albion fan Mark Brailsford (Mr Albion), it would not be difficult to memorise AND the club will be selling the CD, so it could be played over the PA as we sing along to it:

Somewhere over the rainbow
seagulls fly
there’s a team that you’ve heard of
once in a lullaby

Somewhere over the hillside
stripes are blue
where the dreams that you dare to
dream, really do come true.

No 8 was Peter Ward
and when he shot he always scored
a childhood memory
and I still recall the Goldstone roar
and the day that smith must score
that day at Wembley

Somewhere over the downland
Seagulls play
after the theft of the Goldstone
Albion here to stay

Cos there was Gerry Sully, Norman Gall
Bobby Smith, yes legends all
Tommy Cook, Charlie Webb, Mullery
and there was Deano, Robbo, Jimmy too
we sang at Wembley, "Proud of you!"
and of course there’s Bobby Zee

Somewhere over the hillside
stripes are blue
where the dreams that you dare to
dream, really do come true

because Fans United,
standing tall
with one voice "Falmer for All"
that’s where you’ll find me
we stood together, did what’s right
Alongside Perry, Bloom and Knight
and then, you will see, that

Somewhere over the rainbow
seagulls fly
and the words that I live by
I’m Brighton ‘Til I Die

Is that the one that is always on TV with the cast marching on step forward and one step back, that would look good if everybody is doing that at the same time and singing

I cannot think of the tune at the moment

We have to have this. Like I previously said, singing this at the end of a game when we're winning, everyone standing up, would be amazing.

I think LUA LUA will tear you apart again works/sounds better, being a double name anyway - but a great song idea.

The AGAIN AGAIN song is already sung for Calderon though, so shouldn't 'double up' with it?

I've posted this one before but nobody seemed to take any notice. They sing it loads in Spain but to my knowledge, nobody sings it in this country. It's so simple, it would be easy to get going and there are no words to learn at all. And it would sound fantastic ringing around the Amex, and be different to anything else. I think it's perfect. Obviously swap the word CADIZ for BRIGHTON though.

The song I'm talking about starts at 1.05. No need for the Mexican wave to accompany it necessarily.

Easy, catchy and original (ish)
