And we’re through to the East Conference Final against the Canadiens or Bruins !! Rangers beat the Penguins 2-1 in the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] game taking the series 4-3. Not bad considering at one time the Penguins were 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] favorites to win the Stanley Cup at 3/1 with the Rangers rank outsiders at 40/1. Lundqvist was outstanding again and Crosby just didn’t perform for the Penguins. Lots of action in the last 5 minutes with both McDonagh and Malkin sent off making it 4 on 4. Looks like Penguins coach Dan Bylsma is on the way out after tonight’s performance.

And in the 7th innings the Mets are hammering the Yankees 11-5 0h Yes !

Oh I do love to see the penguins getting knocked out the playoffs, congratulations to you sir! You sound surprised Crosby didn't turn up he has spent every post season doing it since the penguins last won the cup.

I'm feeling apprehensive about our game tonight got a horrible feeling the habs are going to stuff us and then beat your guys in the conference final. But if the worse does happen tonight I shall be a honorary rangers fan for the next week or so 👍

Cracking start by the Rangers in the Eastern Conference Final - beating the Canadiens 7-2 in Montreal. Managed to catch the 3rd period on TV. Nobody could have seen this coming especially with the Rangers history against the Canadiens. Alain Vigneault has done more in 1 year than Tortorella did in 4. Keep it up guys

Yup great win, we were lucky enough in Britian to watch the whole game live and free!!! I don't expect the Habs to be quite so easy to beat next time out though.

No games last night but saw this picture of the New York Rangers supporting a team mate at his Mums funeral ...

View attachment 54025

The Rangers attended the funeral of Martin St. Louis’s mother, France St. Louis, on Sunday afternoon in Laval, Quebec, just outside Montreal.
“The New York Ranger family has been touched by a little Quebec family in a deep, profound way,” Coach Alain Vigneault said at Bell Centre in Montreal after returning from the service. “Marty took the podium and shared some incredible moments. It was a very deep message.”
St. Louis, whose mother died at 63 of a heart attack May 8, has been dividing his time between his family and the Rangers, who lead the Montreal Canadiens, one game to none, in the Eastern Conference finals. After Saturday’s game, in which he scored the first goal, he said in French that his first thought after the goal was of his mother.

Kings tied thing up in Chicago last night. After a tight opening two periods the Hawks had grabbed a two goal lead and LA got one back right near the end of the second. Two PowerPlay goals early in the third turned the tide and the Kings fired in three more to complete a first home defeat in the playoffs for Chicago.

Eastern Conference Final

Montreal Canadians 1 (0) v New York Rangers 3 (2)

Western Conference Final

Chicago Blackhawks 2 (1) v Los Angeles Kings 6 (1)

Had hoped we might have gone 3-0 up, but not to be. Canadiens take the 3rd game of the Eastern Conference Final 3-2 in OT, with the Rangers 2-1 ahead in the series.

Exciting game though with the Canadiens getting their second goal 3 minutes from the end of the 3rd period and the Rangers equalizing with only 29 seconds left.

Huge game for the Rangers and they rose to the occasion, beating the Canadiens 3-2 and going 3-1 in the series. And it had to be Marty St Louis getting the winner in OT. The Canadiens defense was poor letting MSL nip in behind them several times - also the Canadiens failed to make use of the 8 power plays they had.

One more win and we're in the Stanley Cup Final !

Rangers winning again in OT, puts them within one game of their first Stanley Cup Final for 20 years. Last night a solid first period from LA, after which they led 3-0 eased them to a 5-2 victory and also leaves the Kings within one.

Eastern Conference Final

Montreal Canadians 2 (1) v New York Rangers 3 (3)

Western Conference Final

Chicago Blackhawks 2 (1) v Los Angeles Kings 5 (3)

The Habs win a wild game 5 to keep their hopes alive. After building a 4-1 lead after just under 7 mins of the second, New York fought back to tie the game. Montreal edged ahead again at the end of the second and then stretched it to two early in the third. Rangers on a PowerPlay also withdrew their keeper for 6 on 4 but the Canadiens scored in the empty net to make it 7-4. Tonight LA go to Chicago.

Eastern Conference Final

Montreal Canadians 7 (2) v New York Rangers 4 (3)

Western Conference Final
