Of all the players we ditched, who went on to be far better than any of us thought

Can't recall the name or whether he was signed or on loan (helpful eh?). Believe he had an arabic name, midfield, 2005 - 6 ish scored a spectacular goal against Brentford (or might have been Fulham). Zash Rehman I remember! He actually came on loan twice in the mid 'noughties.

Zesh Reham is now playing for Kitchee SC, the current Hong Kong champions.

Henfield
Ian Muir is the obvious one. The one good thing was that Lou Macari also missed out on him when he had him on loan at Swindon.
Danny Carter had a fine career with Orient after coming though probably our most successful youth team that included Trevor Wood who ended up with a couple of full NI caps.

Be fair - he wouldn't have achieved half of that if he's come to us then!

So true...Ian Wright was rejected for being too small.

no he wasn't - it was a straight choice between him and steve penney - we couldn't afford both - and two years later, Pennney was a first team regular playing in the second tier of english football, an international and playing at the World Cup Finals, whilst Wright wasn't even a regular at shithurst then.....................

On a more modest scale Andy Crosby did rather well at Scunthorpe after we got rid.
