Freddy Flintoff will be so angry after this batting performance. :nono:

Why? He hit 40 odd and wit KP looked like they would win us the game.

Yeah and victory as well
I think I may have mentioned before that I was born in the Indian sub-continent and thus can safely say that the word was meant to be 'vistory'. Vistory in Hindi dialecht is commonly used to describe an easy victory.

Thank you!!

Because it was Freddie and KP that lost us the game. Completely in control only needing 3-4 runs an over and they both get out to stupid shots. That put the remainder of our (dodgy) middle to lower order under pressure.

I could be a smart arse and point out that Hindi for victory is "Jaya", same as it is in many Sanskrit-based languages.

I could, but I won't, as that would just be silly.

So instead, you ain't seen me, right?

It's strange how we miss Trescothick more in the one-dayers than the tests.

That, my cricket loving friends, was our own fault.

If we hadn't have played the slog sweep shot at all we could have nudged our way to victory. Harbajan had 9 balls left, Collingwood and Blackwell looked to be playing nicely and what does Blackwell do? Slog sweeps one of the most dangerous spinners in the world and gets out. See also Pieterson, Flintoff and Jones. Prior was at fault too on this shot but I'm going to generous to him (because I can) and say he got done by the 'doosra' because, well, he did.

Edit:

ps I see NO reason to be playing both Prior and Jones in these matches.
