hmmm, theres somthing not so funny about this. i heard "the other side" to another claim, which it seems was largly false. whats worrying is that the media have maybe made more of this than there is, and because there is alot of fire no one is going to ask questions of them. it is a bit rich when journalists are notorious for running huge expense accounts.

he DIDNT get his claim paid..
British MP over duck island - Yahoo! News UK

though how ashamed would he be, if he did? (get paid / found out..)

This revelation is TOTALLY irrelevant.

He claimed for it, so deserves to be hung out to dry for the simple temerity of that act.

How ashamed would he be is therefore not even a question here.

(the latest about said duckhouse is that the ducks don't even use it, which is also irrelevant to the claim)

I think the Ducks should band together and challenge him for his seat..

After all, their MP provided them with a house unsuitable for their needs.

it is a bit rich when journalists are notorious for running huge expense accounts.

The main difference is that the expenses of a journalist are paid for by the company. So in effect the shareholders. The expenses of a MP are paid for by the public.

Also it's the factors of 'wittingly' versus 'unwittingly'.

When we buy a paper, it's not so the benefactors can be trusted public servants. We have several choices of newspaper, and we have the most important choice of all - not to buy one at all.

We don't have a choice in paying for MPs, they are paid by us from our taxes - so when they rob us blind for that money and our taxes are mocked, we have every right to be livid.

To some extent I feel the same about Royals and titled 'aristocracy', who seem to be above question most of the time.
